IMAGINE being found in an avalanche thanks to your new Pieps equipment!Pieps DSP Avalanche Beacon Transceiver Safety and Survival Gear Built to Last! In an avalanche emergency, only one thing counts: unconditional hands-on reliability. Enter the PIEPS DSP smart transmitter search beacon, the preferred tool for backcountry skiers and rescue professionals. Equipped with the latest in digital signal processing technology, the DSP is the most user-friendly beacon on the market whether you're faced with a single or multiple burial situation. The DSP's most crucial feature is its unrivaled digital range of 60 meters, with direction indication starting at 50 meters. Most other beacons feature a more or less elliptical receiver range, which means that the signal range varies depending on the orientation of the receiver antenna. This is a colossal waste of time for the searcher, who can't afford to linger with lives in the balance. The DSP, by contrast, features a circular receiver range that detects signals from 50 meters in all antenna orientations--no turning or swiveling the DSP to make sure you're within range. As a result, it doesn't matter how or where a skier gets buried, as the beacon will still detect the signal. The DSP transmitter detects and synchronizes all nearby beacon signals so searchers can easily locate multiple avalanche victims. PIEPS also introduced the first three-antenna system in 2003, allowing searchers to pinpoint the precise location and depth of the signal. In addition, searchers looking for several avalanche victims at once won't have to worry about overlapping signals, as the DSP transmitter includes a built-in receiver that detects and synchronizes the signals of all nearby beacons. Once the receiver locates the position of the first victim, it's able to mask that signal and start searching for the next strongest signal, and the strongest signal after that, and so on. The DSP then clearly indicates how many avalanche victims are present based on the number of symbols on the display.
