Included are the 1958 Retro 5 card set and Allen & Ginter 6 card set. The Retro Set is a special issue produced by Topps for this year's National Sports Card Convention. They were given out in special 4 card packs to just a few hundred VIP registrants. These are very scarce-less than 2500 were made and perhaps 600-800 were given out the show. We have several each of the 5 cards, with 2 Mantles, #150 and a newly issued #496 Mantle Home Run King, #1 Ted Williams, #310 Ernie Banks, and a gorgeous pre-rookie card of Cardinal legend Bob Gibson numbered #145, the missing (unissued card number from 1958). Newly created cards, plus all are printed with yellow name variation (just like a few cards in the original set). The backs look great also, with nice stats & write-ups. The set is really is tough to put together since each VIP giveaway was missing one of the five cards! The Allen & Ginter Set is styled after the famous 1888 Allen & Ginter cards (1 x 2 3/4) and were only given out in special 5 card packs to just a few hundred VIP registrants (who paid about $120.00 for the ticket). These are very scarce-less than 2500 were made and perhaps 900 were given out at the show. All cards feature players from famous events at Yankee Stadium. The set also includes #1 Babe Ruth a special extremely limited card (about half as many produced as others) of The Bambino April 18, 1923, with Babe hitting the first home run ever in the House that Ruth built.
