Drums can last a very long time... if you protect them! During travel, drums can get terribly abused if they aren't in the proper containers. And just stacking them in a closet for a few months will do plenty of harm. Having them stacked will put negative pressure on the drum heads, shells, and hoops. Please, don't let your nice drums go to waste! I will go crazy if I see another person come into my shop with an abused drum and ask why they can't get a good tone out of it!
This is one item than no drummer should be without, if you move your drums even once (out of the house) without having drum softcases, then you are taking a huge risk. What sizes do you need?
The drum case sizes above are for the shell size.We take in to consideration the hardware (lugs, rims, etc). The actual size of a drum case for a 12" drum is about 14" to give you room for the hardware. So, don't worry. If you have a 22" Bass drum then these cases will fit them with the shell hardware and rims attached. 99% of the drums out there will fit into these cases!
